Hello,
I own a Tagus Iris 2017 which is an onyx book, it should be an C67ML Carta with an enhaced battery (3000 mAh) It's resolution is 1024 x 758 with 212 dpi
It comes with a firmware based on 1.7.5 (I suppose), no google play...
So I began to look into flashing the Onyx ROM because of the updates to the reader...
Firstly I backup all my flash: backup, boot, cache, kernel, kpanic, misc, recovery, system, user and userdata with Android Tool.
Looking into the backup dump I can see that it's loader is RK3028ALoader(L)_V2.15_otp.bin, which I got from the net.
Another thing that caught my attention is that in the build.prop it stats:
The first question is: How can I determine if I hace to flash Carta firmware or Carta2 firmware?
I have downloaded both 1.8.1 flashes and unpacked them, the main difference is the kernel but I can't determine if I must use the Carta2 firmware with a modified build.prop (dpi and so on) or the Carta firmware.
Also I can see that the 1.8.1 firmware brings a new Loader. In case of trouble I can downgrade the Loader to the original one? If no, I have unpacked the firmware so I can flash it with Android Tool without the Loader. The new ROM will work with the original Loader?
Another question is if I flash the parameter file it actually does a repartition? My parameter file is different from the 1.8.1, so I want to know if I can go back to my OEM ROM succesfully
If I flash with Android Tool what I have to do with the partitions which are not in the original firmware? I have to boot into recovery and wipe everything?
Also, I would like to change the system.img (I have modified and repacked succesfully, in theory at last) so I have changed the default, language, timezone, home page and adb enabled by default... Should I flash the original firmware and the the modified system image? Or I can flash it directly modified via Android Tool?
Thank you very much
