This is on an old Nova first generation. This began after I accidentally let the ereader battery charge to drop to very low. Do you think this behaviour is due to a faulty/aging battery? If so, I will obtain a replacement battery.
The ereader performs normally, then freezes. I reboot. It gets to the boot screen, then freezes there. I plug it into a charger, press the power button, and it finishes the boot and then performs normally. After a period of reading for perhaps 30 minutes, the process repeats. It has a reasonable charge throughout, though it drops perhaps 10% after the full reboot.
I believe a "bad" battery can cause behaviour like this.
I suppose I better do a hardware reset before I change the battery, but nothing has changed on it. I haven't added any books that might upset it.
