in case this helps. here is my experience
i got my note pro from china 2 years ago and i use it lot. recently it will hang up randomly, but when i connect it to the usbC charger, everything is just fine. i guess this is power related. i hooked up a multimeter and found that when it hung up there was always a voltage glitch down below 3v. so i guess this is due to the battery degradation and not able to supply enough current although the voltage measured is still normal.
the original battery is 2.56mm thick, 85mm wide and around 145mm long
4200mah so a total of ~15wh at 3.7v , 3 wire with a thermistor
i can not find the exact same battery except to buy from china and wait for 2 month
so i tried this one from amazon and got it next day
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
this is 2 wired battery without thermistor.
3.3mm thick, and Width/Length is small enough to fit in the battery comparment. when i got the battery the circuit is thicker than the battery body. but if you just unfold and flip the PCB towards the other side, it will be well within 3.3mm
i just simply left the middle white thermistor wire floating and note pro still able to charget the battery wihtout any problem. so i didn't add the 10K pull down res between the white wire & black GND wire.
so far so good. my note pro resurrected. hope this helps
